I face yet another obstacle in my life as a graphics artist. What had happened to personal space? Where had the respect for life gone? Is it wrong to prioritize my real life over a boring game? First. it was someone who believe that the reason why I want people to state their votes in the competiton is to discourage the members. I've tackled this issue before in a journal entry immediately followed by this.

But just for a recap...
Someone accused me that I was doing the 'state your vote' thing in order to win. I clearly stated the reasons why the rule was placed in the
first place but he refused to acknowledge it. I gave further explanations through a long reply and that seemed to shut him up.

For this issue, however...
No one didnt send a mass sms on DT about SOTW competition and i missed like a lot of them cuz the leader of SOTW is too lazy or sumting.I dont liek this no no wonder you have like only 2 competitors competing in here.

So or better close up SOTW or start sending them messages and im sure u dont send them cuz im active all day long and read my messages!!

So please start sending or step down from the position!

I don't want to be presumptuous but it is clearly directed at me, as I was the graphics department head at that time. Yes, at that time. I quit the job and apologized to the people who knew me in the forum. I know it is immature of me but I guess this was spurred by my mind, hoping to relieve me from some of the stress I'm feeling. And yes, I am going all emo on you, readers, again. Anyway, I really don't like to leave everything to my sharp tongue but I guess this headache is getting the better of me.

So this was what I had replied to him
Oh, SO SORRY THAT I LIVE A DAMN, REAL, ACTUAL, NON-GAMING LIFE THAT HAD ME BUSY, SLEEPLESS AND DAYS FULL OF HEADACHE THESE PAST FEW WEEKS. So sorry I'm not like you who has plenty of time to play Dark Throne or whatever while I slave myself in college to meet the deadline for the requirements because I want to earn money so I won't depend on my parents forever. And so sorry that you say all that and yet you didn't even check the forum for anything new and waited for it to be delivered on a silver plate while I peek in and see if something requires my attention. So if you think this is unfair because you missed a couple of weeks worth of competition, what more for real life if someone missed a crucial event that would forever haunt the person if that person failed?

And if you want the position as the graphics head, then by all means, go for it. Just make sure that you do it in a nice wat and not by trying to bring down the current person in that position.

Au contraire, I was BUSY. BUSY is different from LAZY, am I correct? Although it really is my duty to send it out, I have received complains on quite a few people previously that I have been spamming their inboxes with the competition message. They don't really have a choice to block the message I'll be sending so I took them to consideration.

Again, one should also take into consideration that in an alliance in Dark Throne, there will always be a forum where a majority of the activity is concentrated. So he shouldn't have blamed me if he doesn't check the forum like I do.

The competition was closed for lack of activity under a friend's time. It was brought back because of the increased members and the possibility of new graphics artists to step in. Another thing would be, if he's just sitting around all day playing a text-based game, doesn't he ever think to visit the forum and check if anything's new? Because I surely check the forum first before logging into the game.

I don't usually type away in a blog. Not in LiveJournal. Not even in my Multiply unless I feel really motivated. But right now, right at this instant, I am really, really pissed off.

I know I'm not a great graphics artist. I know I still have a lot to learn in the ways of Photoshop but I do know I am on the road of learning. I know I take pride in whatever I did, as far as posting it in deviantArt where I know a lot of other graphics artists are way better than me. But that's because I know I did a good job making that sig.

And now we move to why I am pissed.

Some guy in a forum I belong to has been complaining about the 'State your vote' rule for the Signature of the Week competition. The reason on why we made that rule is to avoid cheating, as what had happened a few months ago in the same competition. Nevertheless, he's still complaining about the rule. And now I qoote him, a fellow Filipino who defended me and myself. Explanations shall be given at the end.

Me, from the competition prior to the long reply I gave:
It can, actually. I don't think you've heard but crusher937(1) used 3 different forum accounts to vote fot himself both during SOTW(2) and, guess what, MOTM(3). 3 votes? That's something, isn't it? And this competition was meant to create good sport in the members joining it. If a participant is a sore loser, then that's his/her problem. The entry of some other participant just happened to catch the eye of the voters. Besides, there's always a choice of pulling out if he himself thinks he didn't do well.

The guy who "insulted" me:
Well people aren't meant to have 3 accounts so that's a problem with the membership management, not the SotW.

And by saying what I signified in bold, you are discouraging people from taking part. You're only saying this because you often get the highest votes even though all your signatures look like they're made with the same method in different colours and brushes.

The Filipino who defended me:
not to be impolite,but that is not discouraging, that is just strengthening the rules of this forum and crusher is an example of a bad influence. Even so,if a part has a problem,we will do our best to cope with it,and we are very considerate about the IP so we had a problem with that.

Me, the long reply.
first off, I can show you my Photobucket's signature album and GFX album, my Multiply Graphics album and my deviantArt GFX Projects gallery, if you want. You can also try checking the other SOTW's I took part in. It contains all my experiments, my masterpieces, my entries for the competition, requests from other people and gifts for other people. I'd like to show you that although what you see right now is like a repeat of the last time, I do have other tricks, other techniques up my sleeve, if my entry for this SOTW isn't any indication.

Second, it wasn't my choice to win that last SOTW. I just happen to win it because the members of Dark Tranquillity(6) voted for my entry. I strive to be a better graphics artist. If I won, then yay me, the people liked what I did. If I lost, then I either screwed up at one point while making the sig or another entry simply drew the attention away from mine. I try everything I find on the internet regarding it. I happen to be fond of that current style during those times. So what if I made sigs using the same style over and over again? As long as the outcome looks good, I'm happy. If people give suggestions on how to improve it, then I try to do it to make it look better.

Lastly, I can't seem to find what you stressed but I do not discourage people from taking part. If I was, then I wouldn't be announcing it to the alliance(7) via Mass Message(8). Also, it's a win-win situation. One vote can account for activity within the alliance forums and by stating that vote, can add to their post count and be used for future promotions(9) if ever the members will ask for them. For the part of the participants, they would receive opinions, sometimes criticisms, about their entry which may help a participant improve.

1 - crusher937 is the main username of a Filipino who voted for himself using 3 different accounts including his main one to win the said compatitions.
2 - SOTW stands for 'Signature of the Week' competition, a competition where I always participate.
3 - MOTM stands for 'Member of the Month' where a member of the forum is recognized because of his service and dedication to the alliance (see 7) through the forum.
4 - Eiji is part of my username in Dark Throne(10). My full username is Eiji_Takeshi.
5 - This part is in strikethrough because I deleted this from the original post to avoid flames.
6 - Dark Tranquillity is the name of the alliance I belong to in Dark Throne.
7 - Alliance acts like a guild or a clan. It's a group of people in the game.
8 - Mass Message is a messaging feature in Dark Throne which we use to convey important things to the other members instead of sending them messages one by one.
9 - Promotions are, well, promotions. The greater the contribution, the higher the rank, so to speak.
10 - Dark Throne is a browser-based text game.

I was just really irked at how he delivered it. It was like a slap on my face by some random stranger. What's more, he said this in my realm, the graphics sectionI, of course, wouldn't go down without a fight. I just hope he knows who he's messing with because I just might have to abuse my powers if he so ever insults me again. God, I hope the forum leaders would see that so they can take disciplinary action so I won't take matters into my own hands. Anyway, thank you Journal-chan. I got that out of my head.

As an end note, I am sticking by my previous statement about the 'gay' thing. Idiots like some of those who replied to Ashley's plurk should be shot at point blank range, if it was legal. And no matter what other people say, I will stand by Debil's side. He's my best buddy forever and like a brother to me. I also know I may have sounded harsh in some of my statements but at least I did my best in not typing down any profanity unlike some of them.

School has been nothing but a load of bull for me these past few days. Luckily, I had quite a few entertainment on the side so I wasn't bored. So first off, my schedule:

Oct.1 - rest day, but was forced to rush a lot of paperwork
Oct.5 - AniCon, a really futile excuse for cosplays.
Oct,8 - final part of the love triangle script
Oct.10 - final production, the one-man show
Oct.12 - Cosplay Mania (today. Very fun filled, very exciting)
Oct.16 - 3 final exams. Two majors, one minor. Good luck to me.
Oct.18&19 - LU!Live. We might be going on Sunday for the cosplay though.
Oct.21 - Final exam on Rizal. I'm sure I'll be LOL'ed here.

That's about it... Not much huh? Unfortunately, making scrpits is a real pain in the arse... Not to mention stories I have to read and a final paper on GAME! Magazine that I haven't even started yet. But I have managed to survive. I don't know how long I can keep this up but what happened to me a few hours ago is really something to die for.

Let's flashback to my experience in ToyCon'08 last June. I saw 'her' in a pink tutu-like dress and I was like "Darn. That's a nice back." But fate decided to be cruel. I didn't get the chance to get a picture with 'her'. And then there was the WCG last July or August. A guildmate of mine said 'she' was there. He even has proof, a picture of 'her' and another person. Last week during AniCon'08, 'she' wasn't there either. So it was an EPIC PHAIL.

But for once, the Heavens decided to bring me to Nirvana. Me and my friends were randomly walking around the mall when i saw 'her'. At first I was hesitant, might mistake 'her' for another but she faced my direction and "BOOM!" Auto-stalker mode. It may sound bad but hey, I did chase 'her' for a bit. And during the shoot, I asked 'her' if I could cling to 'her'. Nah, not hug, 'she' might suffocate if I did my usual hug. 'She' said yes and I think my mind went blank then. I'm sure 'she' can feel I was hesitant when I placed my arms around 'hers' but hey, 'she's' a few inches taller than me. And did I mention 'she' smelled the sweetest of scents? I died right then and there. So much for my tough act. Haha.

Anyway, it's late. I have to go. No, that's pretty much what I wanted to rant and rave about.

~pouring myself into my latest fanfiction, Strawberry Panic!: Fallen and Rising.
~reading a lot of shoujo-ai and shounen-ai (yes, YAOI) fics.
~doing well in school. Found new friends and rekindled friendships to make school life less boring.
~constantly searching for inspiration in making forum signatures.
~asking myself why I'm still stuck on one thing when I've clearly found another, more interesting, uh, thing.
~helping in planning a movie marathon at a friend's house (that will happen tomorrow; WE ROCK).
~updating my deviantArt for quite some time now.
~planning another cosplay EB with my RadiaTan guildmates.
~changing ever since I last posted here.

So... That's my major activities as of now. I can't really say much, given that I'm too much of a lazy bum to type... So yeah, as I said, I'll see if I can update this weekly. If you see two posts a week, then something must have happened...

I consider my long hair as a sort of symbolism for my time with Seekei. I finally let go of something that I once held in great respect. With a new haircut comes a new life. A new life is accompanied by new friends, new interest and new things to do. These past few days, I have searched over and over again for something to look forward to. And I found them a few days ago, in the presence of my best friend, my partner-in-crime, my guildmates and my batchmates from St. John’s.

Seekei and Seiki are now a thing of the past, a mere memory blurred as time goes by. I now know only the twin Seiki’s of RadiaTa, Raado and Vamp. I know no one who goes by the name of Keiyee. Who’s that anyway?

I can’t say I’ve changed. I can’t say I’ve matured. But at least I can say that the company I presently dwell in treats me as someone of my age group. They don’t take responsibility for my actions, whether good or bad. They’re as bitchy as I am. Their company generates familiarity primarily because of our status as childhood friends. I appreciate everything about them. They go around, lazying about and discreetly not giving a damn.

 

And then, everything I have come to love has fallen. Depression reigned over for only a single thing. Guildmates have fought each other. They have gone astray. We all have. Slowly but surely, we have gone to our own ways, wanting to challenge other guilds for fame. What's the use of joining if I can't enjoy it? So many things have happened. So many very unexpected things... And I hate it.
